Recapping C.H.A.D. Four

Graded porps:

If there are any disagreements with the grading, let me know. If there aren't, the final standings are:

The shortest TD, team to score last, and MVP porps all could have turned out differently if certain people had exhibited better decision-making down the stretch, but as it happened @akschaaf won all three of those, and emerged victorious with 63 out of 78 possible points (81%). For his efforts, he'll received a stitched version of 2014 DTotY champ Things Like Math.

Similarly impressive was the performance of @DalkeGeedz, who finished with just 18% of the possible points, losing each of his five highest-rated porps. He does not win anything.

Finally, in an aspect of the contest I just made up, we combine the #chadTRES and #chadFOUR standings:

As our overall two-year champion, @beruitplayer will receive a stitched tweat of 2014 DTotY runner-up, Invisible Ball.

Congrats to both winners. Only 51 weeks until our next post!

Introducing C.H.A.D. Four

Free to enter. Each person can have one entry. The deadline for submitting picks is 6pm EST on Friday, January 30.

The winner will get a stitched version of 2014 Degen Tweat of the Year winner Things Like Math, plus anything else we come up with between now and Sunday.

PROPS: Can be found in this Google Doc or this image. Pick a side on each, and rank them 12 through 1, with 12 being the one you think is the biggest lock.

TIEBREAKER: The tiebreaker will be the jersey number of the player to score the first touchdown of the game. Doesn't matter if you go over, closest wins. So after adding that, your entry should look something like this.

PICK SUBMISSION: Submit your picks, with your Twitter handle and the word "picks" in the subject, to cvillehatersanddegens AT gmail DOT com. For example, if you are the #WOAT, the subject would read "@thickSLICING picks".

Recapping C.H.A.D. Tres

Graded #porps:

The only one that seemed at all controversial was the Welker porp. I haven't seen a replay yet, but the one play in question (first play from scrimmage in 2H) didn't seem like a drop to me live, and Bodog graded "NO" as a winner, so I'm going with that. I'd put some more effort into it (maybe?), but it doesn't impact the eventual #chadTRES winner either way.

The Anthem (1:54) and Omaha (two!) unders crushed, but generally I think all these porps were reasonable, except for #teamWEATHER. And the forecast for the high on Sunday went from 37 to 46 the day after I posted these, so such is life. Everybody had the over, so it was just a matter of how many points you put on that particular #lock.

Anyway, here are the final standings:

Second by one point is always solid in a winner-take-all contest, IMO.

A truly impressive performance by @HidekiPatsui, who predicted each of his eight most confident porps correctly. Sounds like in real time he shipped the contest on this shot of Sad Eli, which is almost as appropriate a way to end the contest as the last relevant game in C.H.A.D. W10.

So, this was fun, and wraps up the 2013 C.H.A.D. football season. Go Jags.
